Oscar de la Renta was considered one of the most talented fashion designers of our time and a gracious gentleman. His unique blend of artistic brilliance, cultural richness, and refinement made him one of the most respected designers in history. 

Oscar worked with Elson & Company on the Fashion Underfoot Collection benefiting the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative. We continue to work on new projects with ODLR, including rugs in the Oscar de la Renta boutiques in Paris, London, Palm Beach, and New York.

The same mix of influences that made his designs stand out on runways was applied to his work within the home, particularly the extensive and exclusive rug collection he and his creative team developed for Elson & Company over the course of two decades. Oscar approached his collection with us in a thoughtful manner, marking books, pulling fabrics, and selecting vintage pieces he especially liked. We reinterpreted the designs, changed scale, and applied color, creating an entirely new and beautiful vision.
